K12’s Science Curriculum: A Step
Ahead of Traditional Education
You have probably heard
that the International Astronomers Union recently voted to change
Pluto’s status as a planet. This also changes lessons about our solar
system — the old textbooks are now wrong!
K12
jumped into action to make sure our students have the most up-to-date
science lessons. We have already updated our online courses in all
grades to reflect Pluto’s new status as a “dwarf planet.” We’re proud
to be one of the first education companies to make the change! Read
more about the changes to our science program here.

I like cooking for a family the size of ours, particularly when everyone can get on the same page and decide what they want for whatever meal I happen to be concocting at the time. There are, of course, certain times when it’s a drudge; either because it seems like it’s not appreciated by certain wee-ones, or some grouping (clumping, really) of the wee-ones gets the idea that I’m supposed to be wearing a short-order cook’s hat and ringing a bell… (more…)

No. I’m not talking about windoze evolution (‘innovation’, they keep calling it); which normally takes place in a dark alley, with the swift application of a blackjack to the back of the head of the owner of a truly imaginative software project–by Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer or Jim Alchin. That’s nothing new and noteworthy, because we’ve been watching microsoft cheat and steal to get ’software for nothing’ for decades. (more…)
Hello my dear,
I saw you tiptoing your way through the website today; and that, you’re using that travesty (xp) to get wireless connectivity at school. (more…)
It is 01:15 on Sunday morning and, my eldest/our second-eldest daughter is, at this very moment, on a Delta Airlines flight to Atlanta, Georgia; this being the first-leg of her journey to University, in Florida. In a scant 45 minutes or so, she will telephone me after she lands in Atlanta, to let me know how things are going, and to try to sense in me that I miss her more than I have allowed her realize. I just installed the newest version of SimplyMepis_6.0 (Final Release) to the second hard drive on my notebook computer; a Model 1805-S203 in the Toshiba Satellite line. It has the Linksys WPC54GS version 2, PCMCIA (CardBus) wireless adapter installed (pretty-much permanently) for establishing a non-CAT5e connection to our nearly-enterprise-quality home network.
