A 130+ IQ Should be Requisite for Computer Purchases…

Filed under: Technology, Linux — Allan @ 19:02:03

Yes, they warned us. As soon as Linux becomes so easy to install that an idiot could do it…they will. Then they’ll come looking for US. Behold and weep.

is temperature detection of a m748 possible?

that’s my quesiton, because it’d help me know when it’s time to cool the computer so it keeps working smoothly…

for a m748 motherboard I don’t know if this is possible, can you find this out for me?

thx

OK. I’m really controlling myself here, and that expresses itself in a few ways:(1.) I’m not flaming you mercilessly, no matter how much you deserve it. (There is a distinction between flaming you mercilessly, and the the mild warming of your britches you’re gonna get, below.)(2.) I’m not going to slam my head against the edge of the desk; because I’ve finally learned not to expect intelligence or even self-respect out of some forum posters, so I can save myself that little, angst-induced production of the past.

(3.) I will content myself with dissecting your post, and rendering to you a bit of meaningful instruction…so, here we go…

is temperature detection of a m748 possible?

Yes. Go figure out how, by Googling for yourself. Now, for those who ARE NOT familiar with the very poor quality, PCCHIPS motherboard line, an M748 is a model number for that particular motherboard vendor; which you neglected to specify. Here’s a link to the motherboard manual.Interestingly enough, M748 is also the model number of many other devices, including but certainly not limited to; a 0-60 second mechanical timer, a Hitatchi 4-head VCR, and a Shimano XT 8spd Shifter, and this little gem. Ooooooooooooooh!

So, in as short a delivery as you’re giving us, we say, “it’s possible.” Now go away and figure out how to do it for yourself.

that’s my quesiton, because it’d help me know when it’s time to cool the computer so it keeps working smoothly…

Hence your use of a quESTion mark, making it pretty clear that: (1.) you were asking a question, (2.) you actually do have a functioning Shift key on your keyboard, and (3.) really don’t give enough of a damn to present yourself in a proper, self-respecting manner. Now, computers have fans. In most cases the fans run as long as the machine is powered up. You probably don’t have to worry about that “speed demon” of yours overheating at all. However, if you somehow believe that you do have a cooling issue with your machine, I suggest that you clean the darn thing with a vacuumn cleaner (Ever hear of one of those?), replace the fans, and/or add more fans in an intelligent manner. (I’m not holding my breath on that last count, BTW.)

Personally, I really think that the best strategy for you, would be to open the machine up and run it without the cover in place. While your using the machine, feel the heatsinks every so often; and, as soon as you believe that the machine is running too hot, immediately water cool it with a fire hose.

Your problem (and ours) will thereby be solved. See how easy that was?

No. Don’t thank me. I’m just doing my job. Yes, yes. I am a professional, so you really shouldn’t try this at home.

for a m748 motherboard I don’t know if this is possible,

can you find this out for me?

Absolutely, my lazy, feeble-minded one! We have nothing better to do than to do for you that which you already have the ability to do for yourself! Will you allow us to bottle feed you, burp you, and change your diaper, too? Just so we feel extra needed? PRETTY PLEASE?Just kidding. We can, but we have no reason to, so we won’t. Don’t waste our time. Have a nice day. Don’t call us, we’ll call you. Cape will not enable wearer to fly. Buh-bye-now!

thx
